“The man who goes alone can start today; but he who travels with another must wait till that other is ready.”
The words of Henry David Thoreau lit a spark that had been almost extinguished by my doubts. Whenever I made a list of the things that I could not live without, travel, art and the companionship of animals have always been on it.
Like most people, my life isn’t just my own. My husband and I run a design/build company in a quaint Ontario town. I am responsible for interior design, as well as administration and bookkeeping duties of running a business. Traveling together is a once a year affair, twice, depending on his schedule.
Realizing that this arrangement didn’t suit my yearning for experience, my husband gave me the task of finding out how to make my life more fulfilling. The answer? Travel, art, writing, meeting quality people, experiencing different ways of living, and caring for animals.
Whenever I travel my priority is to visit the world’s art galleries and museums, touring architectural beauties and the home’s of inspiring people. I want to share these visits with you, give you tips on how to make the most of your visit, especially when there isn’t time to spare.
